The earliest use of the Bar & Shield itself was 1908, when it was used as a transfer decal on the tool boxes on Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The wings artwork was added to the Bar & Shield as a new design to be used as a style element in Harley-Davidson products.

This porcelain advertising sign was manufactured by Ande Rooney under license from Harley-Davidson Motor Company, and is handmade using a process popularized in the early 1900's.

Measuring 18"w x 6"h, this reproduction sign has a thick steel backing, is very sturdy, and well made, ready to be displayed in your home, or place of business. The printing on the face is slightly raised, and comes in a factory sealed plastic wrap.

For hanging purposes, this sign also has 4 brass grommet mounting holes, one in each corner.
